How To Make Pumpkin Spice?

It Could Not Be Easier to Prepare Pumpkin Spice at Home: Simply Combine the Ingredients, and You’re Ready to Go! Detailed, step-by-step instructions can be found below.

What Does Pumpkin Pie Spice Consist Of?

  • Prep Time: 5 Minutes
  • Total time: 5 minutes

Ingredients

Three teaspoons of ground cinnamon

Two teaspoons of ground ginger,

Two teaspoons of ground nutmeg

One teaspoon of powdered allspice

1 Tablespoon of Crushed Cloves

Instructions

Put each item in a bowl and whisk it until everything is well-mixed. Put it in a jar that won’t let air in until you’re ready to use it.

How Much Pumpkin Pie Spice To Use?

The amount of pumpkin pie spice you need to use will differ depending on the recipe. You can use this recipe as a substitute if a recipe only calls for pumpkin pie spice.

If a pumpkin treat or baked good recipe calls for a mixture of cinnamon and other spices, but you prefer pumpkin pie spice, you can combine them and replace them with the same quantity.

For instance, I recommend using approximately 2 1/2 teaspoons in my homemade pumpkin pie recipe. I would use 1.5 to 2 teaspoons for a recipe similar to my homemade pumpkin bread. It Also Depends on Your Taste for Spiciness.

Storage Instructions

The Pumpkin Spice may be stored at room temperature in an airtight container. Your homemade spice blend will last up to 3 years if the ground spices you used are fresh.

Recipe Tips

Note that Ground allspice is derived from a specific type of dried berry. It is not a spice mixture.

After You’ve Tried the Homemade Spice Blend, Feel Free to Adjust the Ingredients. I think the recipe is perfect, but you may prefer more or less cinnamon, nutmeg, etc.

This Homemade Spice Is Not Exclusive to Pie! This blend can be added to your morning coffee, quick breads, bread puddings, and more.

This recipe makes about five tablespoons of food. You can cut the recipe in half to make less, or if you want to make a lot of pumpkin desserts this fall, you can double it.
